[Sota's] efforts have transformed a symbol of inner city blight into a remarkable development for unique near-downtown housing.

The renovation of this 50,000 s.f. abandoned school created 55 affordable assisted-living apartments for senior citizens. The scope of work included considerable demolition, metal framing, new mechanical and electrical systems, a complete commercial kitchen, and exterior landscaping for a parking area. Residents enjoy a central dining area, skylit commons and support areas such as a crafts room, a wellness center, and an entry courtyard.
The on-site recycling of 2,000 tons of terra cotta from nonbearing partition walls as fill assisted in supporting Sota Construction's efforts to pursue green building techniques.
