[Sota's] attentiveness and attention to detail during construction produced a high quality product within a shorter time frame than originally anticipated.

Located in the historic Manchester District of Pittsburgh, these two buildings had become severely damaged from years of neglect. Sota Construction was chosen to restore these properties to their original grandeur, with 1100 Sheffield Street to be converted into affordable senior housing while 1111 Sheffield Street would become affordable family housing.
Many years of exposure to the elements necessitated extensive masonry rebuilding and interior framing. Epoxy anchors and tie rods were used to re-secure the floor framing to the masonry walls. Recreation of historic architectural elements including new doors, windows, and exterior and interior trim were required to meet the historic restoration requirements for this tax credit project.
Along with the complete modernization of all mechanical systems, a wheelchair ramp and an elevator were installed to assure ADA compliance.
